Polar Skate Co. is one of the most respected independent skateboard brands in the world. It was founded in 2011 by Pontus Alv – the legendary skater from Malmö, who is not only the founder but also the creative director, illustrator, filmmaker, editor, and a passionate DIY spot builder. From the very beginning, Jacob Ovgren has been strongly involved in the brand’s artistic side, creating many of the distinctive graphics featured on boards and apparel. Polar’s collections draw inspiration from art, culture, and the skateboarding scene, with some projects created in collaboration with team riders. The brand’s motto is “inspire others to inspire themselves.” Polar has been awarded European Brand of the Year multiple times (2013–2015, 2019), and its skate videos have been inspiring generations of skaters for years.
