Vans Skate Old Skool

All-new skate classics: Exceptionally strong internal construction for skateboarding

The new Skate Classic collection has been completely redesigned for modern skateboarding and skaters who want to maximize their skills.

Repositioned reinforced DURACAP™ inserts and a completely redesigned upper, combined with a new two-piece foxing tape that has a deeper knurled pattern on the toe, make the new Skate Old Skool model strong enough to withstand everyday skateboarding fun. For greater control over the board, a new molded heel counter and internal tongue straps are used, thanks to which the shoes fit the foot better. Even the rubber outsole that Vans is famous for has been improved with a SICKSTICK™ rubber blend for improved grip and board feel. Additionally, POPCUSH™ inserts provide energy return, excellent cushioning and impact protection, while also helping to reduce leg fatigue during longer board rides. The whole is complemented by internal heel stiffeners providing additional support and stability.

The new version of the "foxing tape" and durable textile uppers made of a mixture of suede and canvas with a weight of 170 g of Skate Old Skool shoes guarantee the iconic look and high functionality that all skaters need. Look out for the new checkerboard label on the side, ensuring you get the best style and functionality on a modern board.

INCREASED DURABILITY - Reinforced DURACAP™ materials, a more knurled texture on the toe box and taller sidewalls offer a more traditional look while providing greater durability and protection.
COMPLETELY REDESIGNED UPPER - changed molded heel counter and internal tongue straps provide better fit and control over the board.
LEGENDARY GRIP - Our new, patented SickStick™ rubber compound is the stickiest rubber we've ever used.
POPCUSH™ CUSHIONING - our best cushioning and impact protection. POPCUSH™ energy return insoles help protect your feet while reducing leg fatigue during extended boarding sessions.

ABOUT THE BRAND

VANS was founded in 1966 by brothers Paul and Jim Van Doren and Gordon Lee and Serge Delia as The Van Doren Rubber Company in Anaheim, California. The first shoes to be created were Vans #44, now known as Authentic. In 1976, Vans #95, now known as Era, was created, designed by Tony Alva and Stacey Peralta. In the same year, the Vans "Off the Wall" logo appears. In 1977, Vans #36, Old Skool, and #98, Slip-On, were released. A year later, #38 - Sk8-Hi is created. In 1988, Vans signed by Steve Caballero were presented - the legendary Half Caby. In 2001, Vans helped produce "Dogtown and Z-Boys," a film that gave Stacy Peralta a look at the early days of skateboarding and the personalities that shaped the sport. The film receives the audience award and the directing award at the Sundance Film Festival. In 2010, Vans opens House of Vans Brooklyn, a retail and event space in New York, and in 2014 opens House of Vans in London. In May 2015, Vans makes skateboarding history with the release of the highly anticipated PROPELLER: A Vans Skateboarding Video, the first skateboarding video from Vans. This unique event catapulted Team Vans Pro Skate to international prominence and further highlighted the importance of the Vans brand to the history of skateboarding. PROPELLER becomes the fastest-selling skateboarding video on iTunes.
